Tianyu town

Tianyu Town, under the jurisdiction of Qingyuan District, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Qingyuan District, on the East Bank of Ganjiang River, in the hilly area of central Jiangxi Province. The area is 49.22 square kilometers (2018), and the registered residence population is 17726 (2018). It has 1 communities and 7 administrative villages (2019).

Tianyu town is the "North Gate" of Qingyuan district. It is located in the center of Jitai corridor. It is the hometown of Hu Guang, the number one scholar of Ming Dynasty and the great Bachelor of wenyuange. It is the pilot town of Ji'an city to expand power and strengthen town reform. Hedong Economic Development Zone, a provincial Economic Development Zone, is located in the territory. New and old national highway 105, new Jinggangshan bridge, Beijing Kowloon Railway and Ganjiang River pass through it.

Tianyu town takes the flower seedling industry as the pillar industry. In 2018, there were 15 industrial enterprises in the town, including 3 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 17 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Tianyu town originally belonged to Jishui County. In 1987, in order to adapt to the place name management along the Beijing Kowloon Railway, and because of tianyushan in the territory, Linjiang commune was changed to Tianyu township.

In May 1987, it was under the jurisdiction of Ji'an City (now Jizhou District).

In January 1994, the township was replaced by a town.

In 2001, it was under the jurisdiction of the newly established Qingyuan district.

administrative division

In May 1987, three administrative villages, zhuanmen, Yushan and lowping, were put under the jurisdiction of Wenfeng Town, Jishui County.

By 2019, Tianyu town has one community and seven administrative villages: Linjiang community, lingshang village, Liufang village, Qiaoshang village, Tangwei village, Pinghu village, Tianxin village and Qiujia village.

Location context

Tianyu town is located in the north of Qingyuan district and the East Bank of Ganjiang River. It borders Wenfeng town of Jishui County in the north, Tianyu mountain in the East, Hedong street and Futan town in Qingyuan District in the southwest, with a total area of 49.22 square kilometers.

topographic features

Tianyu town is a typical hilly landform in the south of the Yangtze River, with small plains, crisscross mountains, high in the southeast, low in the northwest and low hills in the southeast. The mountainous area accounts for 40.8% of the town's total area. Tianyushan (559.9 m above sea level), Qiling (545 m above sea level) in the East, and banjiuling (440 m above sea level) in Qingyuan mountain in the South stretch in the southeast. The administrative village in the north is adjacent to Ganjiang River, with low-lying terrain. Hujiabian village is only 43 m above sea level. The average altitude is 214 meters. The angle between Ganjiang River and Caoping river is alluvial plain with flat terrain.

The northwest of Tianyu town is dominated by fluvial alluvial soil series, and the southeast is dominated by rocky soil series.

Tianyu town has a subtropical humid climate with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall and pleasant climate. The annual average temperature is 17.5 ℃, and the average precipitation is about 1600 mm. The rainy season is mainly from April to July. The annual frost free period is 296 days, which is suitable for the growth of crops and cash crops.

There is Caoping River in the west of Tianyu Town, which originates from Qingyuan mountain and flows through five administrative villages, namely Qiaoshang, Tangwei, Pinghu, Tianxin and Linjiang, and then flows into Ganjiang River.
