Historical evolution

In August 1949, it belonged to Longgang District, the Fifth District

In November 1952, it was changed to Longgang District Office of five districts.

In December 1958, it belonged to Longgang commune.

In May 1984, Meijiao township was established.

In December 1993, Meijiao town was replaced by Xiangjian town.

There are two bridges in Dianshan, Zhongbang and Baoshi, and the exit of Shiji expressway is set in Meijiao.

History and culture

Sanliao Village

Sanliao village is a typical Hakka village, the villagers are mainly Zeng and Liao. Sanliao, known as Liaoxi in ancient times, is located at the junction of Xingguo, Ningdu and Yudu counties. Because of its geomantic culture, it is known as "the first village of Chinese geomantic culture" and "the birthplace of Chinese geomantic culture". In June 2008, Sanliao Fengshui culture was officially listed in the second batch of intangible cultural heritage list of Jiangxi Province. In 2011, it was rated as a national 4A scenic spot; in 2014, it was officially listed in the second batch of Chinese traditional villages supported by the central government.

Crater remains

On the top of Dashi mountain in zhainao village, Meijiao Town, Xingguo County, Ganzhou City, there is a "big pot" - crater left over from the volcanic eruption more than 100 million years ago. The volcanic rocks are cut by the nearby geological structures, especially the faulting, and have a differential rise and fall along the fault zone as a whole. The cave site has been uplifted. At the same time, the rock is affected by water erosion and gravity collapse. Over time, the lava tunnel is exposed to the surface. When you reach the top of the mountain about 800 meters above sea level, you can see a large round pit about 100 meters in diameter and 50 meters deep. The pit wall is steep on three sides and slightly gentle on one side. Along the pit, there are dense thorns, and at the bottom of the pit are clumps of trees. There are many limestone and volcanic rocks in the shrubbery beside the pit. The volcanic rocks are light and adhere to the limestone, which is consistent with the characteristics described in Ganzhou geological relics edited by Lei Hansheng and published by Haitian publishing house.

In Meijiao Town, there is a natural cave named Shixiang rock (Taiping rock), which is named "menqiao Xianqu" and "Zhongru Liuli".

Famous people

Zeng Zhaoxu (1915-1973), during the three-year guerrilla war in the south, served as political instructor of the Xinkang ganxiong guerrilla brigade, vice political member of the fourth brigade and political member of the seventh brigade of the Hunan Guangdong Jiangxi border guerrilla detachment. He was awarded the rank of major general in 1961.
