Taojiang Township
Taojiang Township, subordinate to Longnan City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of Longnan City. It is adjacent to Longnan town in the East, Dujiang town and Anjishan forest farm in the south, and Longxia township of QUANNAN County in the northwest. It has a total area of 88.16 square kilometers, five administrative villages and 110 village groups. In late 2018, the population of registered residence in Taojiang township was 19 thousand and 700.
The economy of Taojiang township is dominated by agriculture. The main crops are rice, sericulture, peanut, soybean and garlic. By the end of 2018, there were 17 industrial enterprises and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Taojiang township.
History of construction
In Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to sayuan fort.
In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was divided into Shuixi Township and sayuan Township, which were subordinate to Longnan County; in 1958, Shuixi Township and sayuan Township merged to establish Taojiang commune; in 1984, Taojiang commune was abolished and renamed Taojiang township; on June 29, 2020, Longnan county was abolished and county-level Longnan City was established, and Taojiang township was subordinate to Longnan City.

In Taojiang Township, the area along Taojiang River belongs to flat land, and the two sides along Sajiang River are Valley hills, and the rest are mountainous areas. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with the highest peak at Xiandong, 793.9 meters above sea level, and the lowest at longcunba, 190 meters above sea level.

Taojiang has a subtropical monsoon climate with pleasant temperature and humidity and abundant rainfall. The annual average temperature is about 18 ℃ - 30 ℃.
hydrology
The main rivers in Taojiang township are Taojiang and Sajiang. Taojiang river flows into Longxia township of QUANNAN county from the southeast and flows through Jingcheng for about 20 kilometers. The Sajiang river flows through the northwest of the territory and joins the Taojiang river at the suokou, flowing through the territory for 19.40 km.

Taojiang township has cultivated land area of 5.6 square kilometers, mountainous area of 73.7 square kilometers, and navel orange planting area of 2475 mu. The mineral resources in the territory include tungsten, zirconium, hafnium, silicon, rare earth, granite, marble, etc.

Agriculture
The economy of Taojiang township is dominated by agriculture, mainly growing rice. Qingyuan village is one of the main production areas of flowers and seedlings and red bayberry in Longnan City; Zhongyuan village also grows soybean, sweet potato, peanut, Camellia oleifera and red bayberry; sakou village is the main production area of garlic in Taojiang city. Yaotou and shuixiba villages are the main vegetable producing areas in Longnan county. Shuixiba village is the main aquaculture base in Longnan City.
In 2009, the planting area of navel orange, 530 hectares of vegetables, 33.33 hectares of aquaculture and 6500 live pigs were planted in Taojiang township.

famous scenery
Longguangwei is located in xiazuokeng, Qingyuan village, Taojiang Township, 6 km away from Longnan City. It is surrounded by mountains in the East, South and West, and a mountain road connecting taosa highway leads to Longnan City in the north. Long Guang Wai is built with Ma Tiao stone mortar. Its structure is strong, about 6 meters high, and the wall is 0.8 meters thick. Four four four story turrets are built at the four corners of the enclosure. Longguangwei was once used as a battle command post by the Red Army guerrillas led by Xinnan county Party committee of the Communist Party of China, which has high tourism and historical value.
On March 9, 2018, longguangwei was approved by Jiangxi Provincial People's government and announced as the Sixth Batch of cultural relics protection units in Jiangxi Province.
