Shahushan Management Office
Shahushan management office, subordinate to Lushan City, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located on the shore of Poyang Lake and at the south end of Lushan city. It faces Poyang Lake in the East, Wucheng town of Yongxiu County, Hengfeng enterprise group of Yongxiu County in the south, Jiangyi town of Gongqing city in the West, and sujialong Township and Jiaotang town in the north. It is 18 km from the management office to the entrance and exit of Changjiu Expressway and 15 km from Yangjialing railway station. In October 1987, the yangliujin bridge in Shahu mountain was opened to traffic with convenient transportation.
Historical evolution
Shahushan management office, formerly known as shahushan Township, was replaced by the Management Office of shahushan Poyang Lake Wetland Reserve in Xingzi County in November 2001. The Management Office administers two wetland protection stations, Changhu and Majing. Changhu station has seven villages, namely Xihu, Gelao, heyewei, shangxihu, lianhuatangdun, yezaodun and huangtugang. Majing station has seven villages, namely liushutan, Longtanhu, balilang, shangbalilang, xiagaotou, shanggaotou and Majing. In addition, in 1998, 286 new houses were built in new villages and towns where the management office was stationed.
Economic overview
Shahushan Management Office covers a total area of 28.8 square kilometers and wetland protection area of 21.8 square kilometers. There are 15 villagers' groups in the farming area, with a total number of 835 households and a population of 4700. All of them belong to the Jiangyou ethnic group of the Han nationality. After the catastrophic flood in 1998, the dike was reinforced, and now it can resist the flood at the elevation of 22 meters. In 2002, another flood gate was built. The protected area is 9600 mu, and the cultivated area is 5289 mu, including 2513 mu of paddy field, 2776 mu of dry land and 580 mu of water surface. Rice is the main food crop in the whole region, with an output of 3025 tons in 1986, 3067 tons in 1990 and 3539 tons in 2005. The main cash crop is cotton, with an output of 50 tons in 1986, 34 tons in 1990 and 23 tons in 2005. The total output of aquatic products was 34.5 tons in 1986, 80 tons in 1990 and 800 tons in 2005. In 1986, the number of ducks, cattle and pigs on the market was 10800, 40 and 1353 respectively, and in 1990, it was 8000, 590 and 1500 respectively. In 2005, it was 230000, 960 and 1300. In 2005, the whole economy developed rapidly, with GDP of 19.07 million yuan, total economic income of 17.9 million yuan, per capita annual net income of farmers of 1850 yuan and fiscal revenue of 1.43 million yuan.

Shahushan Management Office has agricultural machinery irrigation and drainage management station, aquatic farm and nursing home. There are schools, hospitals, grain management offices, power supply offices and shahushan management station of provincial Wild Animal Protection Bureau. The agricultural machinery irrigation and drainage station, built in 1963, is responsible for the drainage and irrigation of the whole embankment and part of the agricultural irrigation, with a lift of 7 meters. In October 1994, the masses raised funds for expansion and reconstruction. In 1998, the flood destroyed the reconstruction. At present, the installed capacity is 420kw, 4 sets of motor and water pump units, 1 set of 400KVA transformer and 1 set of 200KVA transformer. In 1999, the management office built a new nursing home with a building area of 320 square meters and two floors. There are seven elderly people who are lonely and widowed. There is one full-time middle school, one primary school and one private primary school in the management office. The building area of primary and secondary schools is 3180 square meters, with 147 students. There are 17 in-service teachers. One central hospital with 3 medical staff. Shahushan protection station of Provincial Wildlife Protection Bureau is a department level institution with 10 staff. Together with shahushan management office, it is responsible for the environmental and biological protection of 145000 Mu wetland, the prevention and control of avian influenza, the publicity of laws and regulations on wildlife protection, eco-tourism and resource monitoring. There are 313 species of migratory birds in shahushan nature reserve. Among them, there are 9 species of national first-class protected animals, such as white crane, white headed crane, white stork, black stork and great bustard, and 45 species of national second-class protected animals, such as Swan, white naped crane, grey crane and white Spoonbill. From late September to early April of the next year, there are more than 100000 wintering migratory birds and 4000 white cranes in Shahu mountain. In August 2002, two crane viewing pavilions were built at the edge of shahushan lake for tourists to watch migratory birds. In December 2003, another 800000 yuan was invested to build 3 kilometers of Xiwei highway, opening up a channel for the development of Shahu mountain's characteristic tourism.

Shahu mountain migratory bird viewing park is Chenyang lake, which is rich in wild animal protection, Yanzui vegetables and other aquatic animals and plants. The good wetland environment has attracted a large number of rare birds to come for food and habitat. There are more than 150 kinds of wintering birds. It is not only the main wintering place for endangered species and national first-class protected birds white crane (according to statistics, white crane accounts for two thirds of the world), but also an important wintering place for other cranes, storks, swans and other waterfowl migrants.
