Hualin town

Hualin town is named after Hualin mountain. It is located in the hinterland of Lushan City, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, adjacent to Xingzi town in the East, Liaonan Township and Jiaotang town in the south, Hengtang town in the West and Tianmu hot spring in the north. With a total area of 44.9 square kilometers, it governs 8 villages and 1 forest farm, including Fanrong Hualin, Gonghe, hukouchong, Qiaobei, Huaqiao, Taolin, Jishan and Huanglong forest farm. The town government is located in Huaqiao street. The total population is 26000 (2017). Jiujiang Ring Expressway, dujiu expressway, Wenhua highway and Guiheng highway run through the whole area.

The terrain of Hualin town is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with alternating hills and ridges. The highest is Huanglong Mountain, with an altitude of 440m. In the West and North, there are mostly argillaceous Yellowstone and a few weathered qianmeiyan, in the southwest, there are yellow soil, and in the Southeast, there are lacustrine sediments.

Historical evolution

In the middle of Qing Dynasty, Hualin town was subordinate to the second capital of Xingzi County. From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, it belonged to the surrounding administrative region. Since liberation, it belonged to the second district. In 1956, it belonged to the hot spring district.

It was incorporated into Wenquan commune in 1958.

In 1984, the commune was changed into a township, and Huaqiao commune was renamed Huaqiao township.

In 1985, Huaqiao township was renamed Hualin Township, which was named after Hualin mountain.

In 1997, it covers an area of 44.9 square kilometers and has a population of 23000. It governs eight administrative villages, Qiaobei, Hualin, Gongtong, hukouchong, Fanrong, Huaqiao, Taolin and Jishan. The township government is located in chenjialing.

In 1999, Hualin township was renamed Hualin town.
