Zuoli town

Zuoli Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Duchang County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of Duchang County, bordering wangdun Township in the East, Xinmiao Lake in the south, Beishan Township across the lake, Poyang Lake in the west, Duobao Township in the north and Sushan Township in the north. The total area is 67.6 square kilometers. As of June 2020, Zuoli town has jurisdiction over one community and 12 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the total population of Zuo Li registered residence was 26142.

On the eve of the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zuoli was the old township of Zuoli and sujiu in the surrounding mountainous area, which belonged to the second district at the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China. In 1956, it was renamed Zuoli district. In 1958, it was changed to Zuoli township. From 1959 to 1961, Zuoli people's commune was established. In February 1982, it was changed to Zuoli township. In 1996, the township was replaced by Zuoli town.

In 2018, Tongkou town has 5 industrial enterprises and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

By the end of 2011, Zuoli town had 12 administrative villages including Yuanshu, Linshan, Xinhu, Xinxi, Chengshan, Jiushan, Shuangming, Qinghui, Baihui, Zhoumao, Yonghua and Fuqiao, and 1 neighborhood committee in Zuoli. There are 150 natural villages and 238 villager groups.

As of June 2020, Zuoli town has jurisdiction over one community and 12 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Zuoli town is stationed in huoshaozhou village.

Zuoli town is located in the northwest of Duchang County, bordering wangdun Township in the East, Xinmiao Lake in the south, Beishan Township across the lake, Poyang Lake in the west, Duobao Township in the north, and Sushan Township in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 7.4km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 12.2km. The total area is 67.6 square kilometers. The land area is 63.13 square kilometers, accounting for 94.3%; the water area is 3.87 square kilometers, accounting for 5.7%.

Zuoli town is located on the East Bank of Poyang Lake, facing Lushan Mountain in the West. The terrain inclines from north to south, with high in the north and low in the south, lakeside in the South and northwest, and hills in the rest, with an average altitude of 32 meters. The highest point is mount Su, 311 meters above sea level; the lowest point is Fuqiao wangjiazui natural village, 17.8 meters above sea level.

Zuoli town is located in the subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, and affected by the water body of Poyang Lake. It is characterized by mild climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, rich heat, short freezing period, long frost free period, short spring and autumn, long summer and winter. The annual average temperature for many years is 17.5 ℃, the average temperature in January is 4.2 ℃, the average temperature in July is 30.1 ℃, the annual frost free period is about 265 days, and the average annual precipitation is 1377.2 mm, mostly concentrated in April to June.

hydrology

Zuoli town has built five reservoirs along the Sushan mountains. They are leilong reservoir, Linshan reservoir, Sushan reservoir, Chunshan reservoir and Shengli reservoir. All the water along the Sushan mountains flows into the five reservoirs along the mountain. The rest of the water flows into tuanzikou and most of it into Xinmiao lake.
