Shangbu town

Shangbu Town, subordinate to Luxi County, Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the west of Luxi County, connecting Luxi town in the East, Nankeng town in the west, Xinquan town and Zhangjiafang town in the south, and Luxi town and Gaokeng town in the north. The town covers an area of 76.16 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 5 communities and 14 administrative villages. History and culture

Shangbu town is an old revolutionary base. During the first Civil Revolutionary War, under the guidance of Anyuan road and mining workers' club, Shangbu porcelain trade union was established. On September 23, 1927, the commander-in-chief of the Autumn Harvest Uprising, Lu Deming, led the uprising troops up to Jinggangshan, passing through Shankouyan village, and fought fiercely with the Kuomintang troops. In order to protect the follow-up troops, he died in the mountains. At the same time, more than 40 people died. During the second Civil Revolutionary War, the Soviet governments in the districts and townships were established, and more than 100 martyrs in the town gave their precious lives. In 1987, Lu Deming martyr cemetery was built in Shankouyan, which was listed as a patriotic education base.
