Xujiafang Street

Xujiafang street, founded in 1979, is named after the hometown of Xu Ruzi, a "high scholar in Nanzhou" in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is the north gate of Qingyunpu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province.

The street is bounded by Hongcheng road and Jiefang West Road in the north, Qingshan Hunan Avenue in the East, Fuhe South Road in the west, Jianshe Road and Shuxi road in the south, Jinggangshan Avenue and Xufang community in the middle, forming a "t" shape. It covers an area of 5 square kilometers and has a population of 56302 (in 2010). It governs 16 communities and 1 administrative village. It is the street with the largest number of communities in Qingyunpu District.

Historical evolution

In 1949, it belonged to Sanjiadian Township, seven districts of Nanchang County. In 1952, it was assigned to Nanchang City as xujiafang resident group. In 1956, it was changed into xujiafang neighborhood committee and in 1960, it was called Jingshan commune. Xujiafang street was established in 1979. In 1997, it covers an area of 1.8 square kilometers and has a population of 24000. It has jurisdiction over the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh neighborhood committees of xujiafang, Xincun, the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh neighborhood committees of xujiafang. The Office is located at 168 Jinggangshan Avenue.
