Yuzhang Street

Yuzhang street is located in Donghu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is bounded by Sanjing road in the East, Yangming Road in the South and Binjiang Avenue in the northwest. It is the seat of Jiangxi provincial Party committee, provincial military region and provincial public security department.

Yuzhang Street covers an area of 2.4 square kilometers and has a population of 56673 people (in 2010). It manages 8 communities including Donghao street, Xiazheng street, xiashawo, shangshawo, Jingwei Road, Sijing Road, Binjiang Road and Hongcheng, and 5 family committees including Yangming, Jiangxi chemical fiber factory, Aiguo, Derui and Lvyuan.

Historical evolution

Yangming Road Administrative Office was established in 1949, changed to Yangming Road residents' Union in 1950, Yangming Road Street office was established in 1951, divided into qiujiachang and Yangming Road neighborhood committee in 1953, changed to qiujiachang and Beitan sub district office in August 1954, merged into Beitan sub district office in 1957, changed to Yuzhang commune in May 1960, and changed to Yuzhang sub district office in June 1979. It got its name from Yuzhang road. Located in the northwest of the area, across the Ganjiang River, north of Changbei Development Zone, there are 18 streets and alleys, such as Yangming Road, Aiguo Road, Lushan South Avenue, etc. Jiangxi provincial Party committee, provincial military region and other organs and units are stationed in the territory. In 1997, it covers an area of 5.1 square kilometers and has a population of 55000. It has jurisdiction over Yiwei Road, Erjing Road, Wuwei Road North, Aiguo Road South, xiashawo East, xiashawo West, shangshawo, potouxia, Huanqiu street, Aiguo Road North, Donghao Street West, Donghao Street East, Xiazheng street, Changbei Street No.1, No.2, No.3, No.4, Lushan South Avenue, provincial forestry industry company, provincial Party committee No.1, No.2, No.3 and pharmaceutical factory First, second, 28 neighborhood committees of Jiangxi Daily, Jiangxi hospital, xiazhengjie power plant and Nanchang shipyard.
