Pumei town

Located in the middle of Yunxiao County, Pumei town is the location of the new administrative center of Yunxiao County.

There are cultural relics and historic sites in PuMei Town, such as Chen Zheng's tomb, xianbaoshan martyrs' cemetery, xianfengyan, Nanshan Temple and so on. Anti Japanese castle was built in Ming Dynasty. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages and 6 communities.

In 2019, the administrative area will be 3887 hectares, with 117773 permanent residents.

Historical evolution

In 1944, it belonged to Yangshan township; in 1958, it belonged to Hongqi and Haifeng communes; in 1966, it set up Pumei commune; in 1984, it changed township; in 1992, it changed town. In 2012, it has jurisdiction over 6 communities and 16 administrative villages.

Location context

Pumei town is located in the middle of Yunxiao County, connecting Zhangjiang River to the sea in the East, Changshan overseas Chinese farm to the south, majestic and beautiful Jiangjun mountain to the northwest, and continuous Pumei mountain to the southwest.

Pumei town has superior location and convenient transportation. National Highway 324 runs through the whole territory, 150 kilometers away from Xiamen Special Economic Zone in the north, Xiamen Shenzhen high speed railway under construction and Yunxiao port area of Zhangzhou Port in the south.

The southern expansion of Yunxiao County in planning and construction is located in Pumei. With the southward shift of the county administrative center, Pumei town is becoming the political, economic and cultural center of Yunxiao County and an important area for economic and social development of Yunxiao County.
