Dongxia town

Dongxia town is located in the east of Yunxiao County, Fujian Province, 5 kilometers away from the county. It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages.

Zhangzhao expressway, 211 provincial highway and Yunjia highway transit through the area. Zhangjiang River flows through Dongshan Bay and has a wharf with a coastline of 34.1 km.

In 2017, the administrative area of Dongxia town was 12813 hectares, with a permanent population of 50615.

Historical evolution

Binjiang township was established in 1944. It was renamed Hongqi commune in 1958, Dongxia commune in 1964, township in 1984 and town in 1992.

Dongxia town has 15 village committees including Dongxia, Chuanchang, Xitang, Hexi, Hezhong, Hedong, Wutian, zhoudu, Jiazhou, Baita, Daiyang, zhuta, Dongqi, Huqiu and Changyang.

There are Shifan pagoda, longqiuyan, Hengshan Neolithic cultural site, Weima tomb and Gaoxi Guanyin Pavilion in Dongxia town. There is zhuta Mangrove Nature Reserve.

Zhangjiangkou Mangrove National Nature Reserve was established in January 1992. It was approved as a provincial nature reserve by Fujian Provincial People's Government in July 1997 and upgraded to a national nature reserve by the State Council in June 2003. It was listed in the list of international important wetlands in 2008.

The actual location of the reserve is zhuta village, Yunxiao County, Fujian Province. There are two ways to enjoy the mangrove. One is to walk along the mangrove plank road and watch the mangrove from a short distance. The other is to take a boat to watch the mangrove and various birds from a long distance. It doesn't take much time. Each boat costs 100 yuan and can be shared by many people.

The scenic spot is free of admission. The navigation self driving person will set the destination at "zhuta village Yunxiao County, Zhangzhou city". Enter the village and walk to the east of the village. The parking lot is in front of Fengta Temple (Kaizhang Shengwang Temple).
