Leifeng town is located in the central and southern part of Dehua County, located in Leifeng village, 16 kilometers away from Dehua Chengguan. There are 127 natural villages, 14 villager committees and 135 villager groups.

Historical evolution

In Song Dynasty, the surname of Fang, whose ancestor was Lei, lived in Meifeng, Putian. In memory of Lei and Meifeng, the place where he moved was called Leifeng, which was later used as the township name. Leifeng was developed in the late Tang Dynasty. It belonged to guidechang in Tang Dynasty, qingtaili in Yongning township of Dehua in song and Ming Dynasty, Fengkui society and Xiaokeng Society (later changed to KuiGuang Society) in qingtaili in Qing Dynasty, and Lishan society in Lixi, Panci and ruiban.

In 1935, Baojia was subordinate to the second district. In 1939, the district was removed and lianbaojian township was abolished. Jiaoxi, Leifeng and Xiaokeng belonged to southwest township. Lixi, ruiban, Shangzhai, Shuangqin and Jianjie belonged to ruishang township. In 1956, Leifeng district was set up. In 1958, Leifeng people's commune was established. In 1984, it was changed into Leifeng township. In May 1992, the township was withdrawn to build a town.
