In 1958, Helong commune was established.
In 1959, it was divided into Zhongsha commune and Anyuan commune.

Helonggongmi
Helong Gongmi, a special product of Helong Township, Ninghua County, Fujian Province, is a national geographic indication product of China. Xiayigong Temple
Xiayigong temple, also known as Shuinan temple, is located in Helong Township, Ninghua County, on the South Bank of Helong river. It is dedicated to yipen and his wife, the Yinqing Guanglu doctor, who were granted by Huizong in the Northern Song Dynasty. The existing building was rebuilt in 1819. The brick and wood structure still preserves the temple layout of the Song Dynasty. Eight inscriptions are embedded in the inner wall of the temple to record the whole process of temple construction.
