Aodong town

Aodong town is located in the south end of Haitan Island, Pingtan, Fujian Province. It has 15 administrative villages and 45 natural villages. "Yipianwa" in Dafu village and "Shapo in Fenghuang Mountain" in shanqi'ao are one of the eight national Haitan scenic spots.

In 2017, the administrative area of Aodong town was 2314 hectares, with 36326 permanent residents.

Historical evolution

In the first year of the Republic of China, it belonged to aowang district and Fenwei district; in the 20th year, it belonged to Tongren Township and Tannan Township under the five districts; in the 26th year, it belonged to Xihai, Fenwei, Xianxia and Aodong Lianbao under the two districts.

After the liberation in September of the Republic of China, Pingtan belonged to Aodong Township under the jurisdiction of the second district. In 1958, Aodong branch was established. Aodong people's commune was established in 1961. In September 1984, the commune was abolished and the people's Government of Aodong township was established. In 2000, Aodong township was abolished and Aodong town was established.

economic development

Aodong town is full of huge rocks and reefs. Its coastline is zigzag, with beach and rock group alternating, forming many half moon shaped bays. Anhai'ao, xiahu'ao and qianbian'ao are good natural harbors. There is a wharf in qianbianao, and the liner ships connect Caoyu and Tangyu. Aodong township is dominated by fishery. In addition to sea fishing, there are many kinds of operations, such as fishing, fishing, fixed net and so on.

Kelp, Porphyra, oyster, razor clam, clam and a variety of economic fish are cultured in shallow beach. In 1995, the output of aquatic products reached 22000 tons, with an output value of 49.63 million yuan. Most of the cultivated land is sandy soil and dry land. The trial planting of Citrus in the sandy land of shamuqiguo forest farm was successful, which created experience for the cultivation of Citrus in Shapu county. In rural enterprises, aquatic products are mainly processed by freezing. In 1995, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 201 million yuan.

Aodong town many hills and rocks exposed, good quality, is a good building material. The 3 km long sand ridge at the mouth of Xi'ao in Yutang village is a high-quality sand resource for making glass. There are many strange peaks and rocks in the territory. The "yipianwa" and "Jiulong cave" in the qingguanding area are national scenic spots.
