Geling town

Geling Town, subordinate to Yongtai County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is located in the east of Yongtai County, with a land area of 237.43 square kilometers, beautiful mountains and rivers and rich tourism resources. Geling town is located in the east of Yongtai County, Fuzhou City, adjacent to Tangqian Township in the East, Chengfeng town in the west, Linglu, Putian and Fuqing in the south, Danyun and Minhou Nanyu in the north, 10 kilometers east of Yongtai and 21 kilometers south of Fuzhou. Historical evolution

In Song Dynasty, it belonged to baoanli of Fenghe township; in Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to 4, 5, 6 and 7 capitals; in Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to baoanli of Fenghe township. In the early period of the Republic of China, it was the Eastern District, four districts in 25 years, and changed to Geling Township in 27 years. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was divided into four districts. In 1958, it was changed into Geling administrative district of Chengguan people's commune. In 1961, it was set up separately from Chengguan people's commune. In 1984, it was changed into Geling township. In 1992, it was withdrawn from the township to build a town. It has jurisdiction over 16 village committees in Geling, Jiaokeng, Wuyang, Liyang, Xiaozhou, Longcun, Pubian, Dongxing, Xixi, taikou, Huangpu, Jiulao, Xiyang, Chibi, Xinan and Wanshi.

Agricultural and forestry resources

The cultivated land area of the town is 15784 mu (including 13057 mu of paddy field and 2727 mu of agricultural land), 0.97 mu per capita. The forest area is 284000 mu, with 250000 mu of forest land, including 154000 mu of public welfare forest, 369000 cubic meters of forest stock, 8.449 million bamboo such as basket bamboo and moso bamboo, and 85% of forest coverage. Hot spring resources

Hydropower resources

There is a small type I Fangguang reservoir with water storage capacity of 600000 cubic meters, a small type II Dongyang reservoir with water storage capacity of 100000 cubic meters, and a waterworks with daily water supply capacity of 500 tons. At present, the installed capacity of Jiaokeng hydropower station is 1000 kW and that of Xiyang hydropower station is 800 kW, of which the installed capacity of baiyankeng hydropower station in Wuyang is 4000 kW and that of Xixi hydropower station is 600 kW, and that of Xili hydropower station in Chibi is 1000 kW.

In a few years, from the original weak economic foundation, infrastructure lag, rural environment occlusion of the township, leaped to the leader of new rural construction. The completion of Geling Wuyang highway with an investment of 6.5 million yuan in 2012 marks the formation of full coverage of rural road network.
