Xinma market town

Xinmaji Town, subordinate to Jieshou City, Anhui Province, is located in the northwest border of Jieshou City, 24 kilometers away from Jieshou City. It is adjacent to damiaoji town of Taihe County in the East, Guangwu Town, Dahuang town and Jinzhai township of the city in the south, Bingji township of the city in the West and Lixing town of Taihe County in the north, covering an area of 39.6 square kilometers. It governs 9 administrative villages, 66 natural villages and has a permanent resident population of 34765 (2017).

Historical evolution

Xinmaji Town, formerly known as LiuYao Town, was merged by LiuYao Township and Fanzhai Township in 1992 and renamed Xinmaji town in 1996. In 1997, the town was moved from LiuYao village to Maji South Street.

Economic overview

Xinmaji town is a big agricultural town with 41604 mu of arable land. The main crops are wheat, soybean, corn, cotton, sesame and red taro. In 2003 and 2006, with the development funds of Huang Huai Hai, the transformation of more than 4000 mu of land in the town was realized. Shenhu village is an early specialized village engaged in the purchase and processing of waste plastics in Jieshou City. After more than 20 years of development, it has developed 65 purchase and processing enterprises, including 21 general tax paying enterprises.

It has jurisdiction over 10 natural villages, including former LiuYao, later LiuYao, fengtianzhai, Shizhuang, Gaozhuang, Liuzhuang, Zhangzhuang, Gaomiao, Yuzhuang and Miaowang. There are 5034 people and 1287 households in the village, with 4890 mu of cultivated land, mainly agricultural cultivation.

Located in the north of Xinmaji Town, it is adjacent to Fuchen village of Bingji Township in the north and the town government office building in the East. It governs five natural villages, namely, Maji Nanbei street, Wangzhai, zhaobing, Yinzhuang, Yuzhuang and liuhuomiao, with 4710 people and 3855 mu of cultivated land.

It has jurisdiction over 11 natural villages including Wanglou, Zhaozhai, Hezhuang, Dingzhuang, Dawangzhuang, Xiaowangzhuang, Dongzhuang, Mizhuang, Panqiao, Renzhai and Fuzhuang, with 5530 people and 5790 mu of cultivated land, mainly for agricultural cultivation.

Xiemiao Village

Located in the southernmost part of the town, 8.5km away from the town government, it governs three natural villages, namely xieminiao, denglu and Yuanzhuang, with 2531 people and 707 households. The cultivated land is 2640 mu, mainly planted in vegetable greenhouses.

, Shenhu Village

It is located in the south of Xinmaji Town, only 1.5km away from Guangwu town in the West. The highway from Guangwu to Fanzhai passes through the village. It governs six natural villages, namely Shenhu, Yanzhuang, Xuanzhuang, chenzhang, louchen and Shiqiao, with 5825 people, 1559 households and 4980 mu of cultivated land. The main industry is the acquisition and processing of waste plastics.

Wang'e Village

It has jurisdiction over 7 natural villages, including dawange, xiaowange, Liulu, xiaoliuzhuang, wanglaojia, yanmiao and Lilou. There are 3980 people and 1158 households in the village, with 4500 mu of cultivated land, mainly for agricultural cultivation.

Yulou Village

It has jurisdiction over seven natural villages, namely, Xiyu, Yudong, xiaoyulou, Yuzhong, Jinzhuang, Mengzhuang and Yuqiao. There are 4789 people and 1258 households in the village, with 4980 mu of arable land and 87 party members.

Qianli Village

Located in the northernmost part of Xinmaji Town, it has jurisdiction over seven natural villages, namely Qianli, Houli, Dazhang, Xiaozhang, Shizhuang, Huangzhuang and yuqianzhuang. There are 5634 people and 1476 households in the village, with a cultivated area of 5100 mu. There are many migrant workers in the village, mainly for agricultural cultivation.
