Jiangzhai Town, belonging to Linquan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, is the hometown of Jiang Ziya. It is located in the southwest of Linquan County, 35 kilometers away from Linquan county. It is adjacent to Wadian town in the East, miaocha town in the west, and pangying Township in the north. The ancient Liuan river flows through the territory along the river, and linmiao road and Jijiang road run through the whole territory. The territory covers an area of 56.7 square kilometers, with 28 villager committees, 94 natural villages and 72232 people (2017).
Historical evolution
Jiangzhai used to be called "qiangzhai". It is said that Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Han Dynasty, came here to beg for thieves and met with tenacious resistance, so he was named "qiangzhai". According to the research, Jiang Shang (Ziya, also known as taigongwang), the founder of the Western Zhou Dynasty, whose ancestor Boyi Zuoyu had made great contributions to flood control. At the time of Yu Xia, he was granted Xincai (now Xincai in Henan Province) as an ancient Marquis state. Jiangzhai is the territory of ancient Lu. After Marquis Lu, Jiang Ziya was born here, so it is called Jiangzhai. According to Ru Ning Fu Zhi, "Jiang Zhai is 40 Li north of new CAI. Jiang Ziya is the empress of marquis Lu, so there is Jiang Zhai. Now it belongs to Yingzhou.". There is an ancient tomb in the north of Jiangzhai village. It is said that it is the tomb of Jiang Ziya's ancestors. The bronze border and the bronze sword were unearthed, and they were broken when they saw the wind. There is a high platform on the North Bank of Tousi River in the south of Jiangzhai, which is said to be Jiang Ziya's Diaoyutai. When Jiangzhai was built, it was named Jiangzhai because it was the hometown of jiangshang. There are three ancient trees in Jiangzhai, among which two are collected in Jiangzhai, both of which are more than 500 years old. In March 1976, a female corpse of the Ming Dynasty was unearthed from Jiangzhai middle school. The corpse was well preserved and exhibited in major cities. It is now in the county museum together with the collection.
Township Development
Jiangzhai was founded in 1948. After liberation, it was renamed Town, commune and township. In March 1992, Jiangzhai township was merged by Jiangzhai Township, Yangzhai Township and Gaocheng township.
