Mingnan Street

Mingnan Street office was formerly Hengshan Township, Mingguang City. The office is located in the southwest of Mingguang City, belonging to the Jianghuai watershed hilly area, bordering three counties (cities) and seven townships. It is one of the key townships (towns) and offices for the comprehensive management and development of Jianghuai watershed.

The office has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, 134 villager groups and 13186 residents (2010): one Hui village with a population of more than 1500. "Eight sceneries" refer to laoyingzui, Xianren cave, lover's slope, wuzhigou, training ground, Longquan, depression and the West Lake. According to legend, Daheng mountain is the hometown of King Chai, the place where emperor Taizu of the Ming dynasty built up troops to achieve his hegemony, and the treasure land of Buddhism.
