In 1958, the trade commune was established. In 1962, Mao Dong commune was established. In 1980, Mao Dong Street was restored. As of June 2020, Maodong street has jurisdiction over Laodong Road community, Limin community, Shengli community and hongyunyuan community, and its sub district office is located at No.1 Taipinggou street, Hanshan district.
