Zhongmiao Street

Zhongmiao street, belonging to Chaohu City, Hefei City, Anhui Province, is located on the western edge of Chaohu City and on the North Bank of Chaohu. It is named after the ancient temple, which is located between Chaozhou and Luzhou. It is known as "the most beautiful place in the lake".

Zhongmiao Street covers an area of 13.2 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 6982 (the sixth census in 2010), and governs one neighborhood committee and five administrative villages. Historic sites include Zhongmiao temple, Zhaozhong temple, Laoshan, Wenfeng pagoda, etc.

Zhongmiao township was established in 1956, the commune was established in 1958, the township was changed in 1983, and the town was changed in 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 32.9 square kilometers and has a population of 18000. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages of Magang, Zhanggang, Gangquan, Hequn, Yuhua, Yuanjue, Xudong, Donghong, Xucun, Linhu, Shengyuan, Gutang, Yinhu, Hedong, Jinzhuang, Jingtang, Hexi, Jianshe, Longqiao, Zhongmiao and 2 neighborhood committees of Zhongmiao and Laoshan. At the end of 2005, Zhongmiao town was abolished; Zhongmiao neighborhood committee and five administrative villages of Shengli, Gutang, Hexi, Longqiao and Xudong were set up in Zhongmiao Town, covering an area of 12 square kilometers with a population of 9200. The neighborhood office was located in Zhongmiao (the former Zhongmiao town government resident); Linhu neighborhood committee and four administrative villages of Yuanjue, Zhanggang, Yuhua and Hedong were merged into Huanglu town .
