Wutong Township

Wutong Township, a Jingning Autonomous County in Zhejiang Province, is located in the southwest of Zhejiang Autonomous County of Jingning Autonomous Prefecture, Zhejiang Province, 16 kilometers from the county seat, and east to Chengzhao Township, Da Jun Township, South even the village of standard brook, West to Shawan Town, northwest border cloud and county, with an area of 64.16 square kilometers (2017).

General situation

In 1972, Gaoyan village began to develop the base of Chinese herbal medicine, with 11687 mu of Magnolia officinalis, 292 mu of Eucommia ulmoides and 778 mu of honeysuckle. It is an important base of Magnolia officinalis in Zhejiang Province and the hometown of medicinal materials in the county. Jinkeng power station, a township run enterprise, has an installed capacity of 400 kW and is connected to the grid for power supply. There are bamboo and wood processing, FRP factory and other township enterprises and citrus, sericulture and other bases. there are township level education, culture, health, broadcasting, film, credit union and post and telecommunications facilities. In 1990, Mr. Shen Binglin, a patriotic overseas Chinese, funded the construction of the "De'en building" of the township health center. Within the territory, every village has access to roads. The township has 4305 mu of arable land and 69191 mu of mountain forest, including 3405 mu of bamboo forest, 87% of forest coverage, 120000 cubic meters of forest stock, and 37127 mu of ecological public welfare forest. Wutong township is a famous "hometown of Chinese medicinal herbs". The whole area of the township has a total area of about 350 mu, which is the largest nursery base of Magnolia officinalis in Zhejiang province. It has 17880 mu of Chinese herbal medicines including Magnolia officinalis, Eucommia ulmoides, Atractylodes macrocephala, zizibei, honeysuckle and so on. There are six power stations with a total installed capacity of 1300 kW. There are many mineral resources in our township. The main proven mineral is Jinlan Yingshi mine. There are precious things and outstanding people. The Wutong people carry forward the spirit of "tough, no practical, innovative" in this new era, emancipating their minds, working hard and improving the material life of farmers.
