Tianzihu Town, founded in May 2012, is a combination of the former Gaoyu town (including Ximu and Nanhu) and the former Liangpeng town. With an area of 232.64 square kilometers (2017), the town governs 20 administrative villages and 3 residential areas, with a permanent population of 48891 (2017). Nanhu prison is located in the town.

Tianzihu town is located in the north of Anji County, connecting Meixi town in the East, development zone (Dipu Street) in the south, Guangde County in Anhui Province in the West and Changxing County in the north. It is the meeting point of three counties in Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. It is located at the intersection of Hangzhou metropolitan economic circle and Wanjiang industrial demonstration zone, the central hinterland of Yangtze River Delta economic circle, 68 km away from Hangzhou, 150 km away from Nanjing and 200 km away from Shanghai. It is the bridgehead of industrial development and the reservoir of factor flow in Northern Zhejiang. The comprehensive transportation pattern of railway, highway and water transportation has been continuously improved. Hangzhou Shangdong high-speed railway has set up transit stations. History and culture

In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Wuyue, known as Yanzi township; in the Southern Song Dynasty, it was an important military strategic place for resisting Jin. Thousands of years ago, Tianzi lake was a place where merchants gathered and culture flourished. The Wangjiadun site in the town dates back 6000 years. Recently, a group of ancient tombs from the Han Dynasty to the Jin Dynasty, about 2000 years ago, has been discovered, and a large number of precious cultural relics have been unearthed. The story of Yue Fei's resistance to Jin and Mu Guiying's leadership is widely spread. A great master Wu Changshuo took refuge here, and world canoe champion Xu Yaping rowed from Shangma lake to the world. The long history has bred rich folk culture. There are three cultural exhibition halls of calligraphy and painting, farming and immigration, four county and municipal intangible cultural heritages, and nearly 30 art teams.
