Evolution of organizational system

In April 1980, the Management Committee of Hongtang commune was established. In October 1983, it was changed into Hongtang Township People's government. In March 1984, the suburbs of Ningbo City merged with Jiangbei District, and Hongtang township was under the management of Jiangbei District. In March 1985, with the approval of the Provincial Department of civil affairs, it became the people's Government of Hongtang town. In 1991, four villages of Yangshi Township were merged into Hongtang Town, with 20 administrative villages, one farm and two neighborhood committees. In May 1992, Qiushi town was merged with Hongtang town to establish a new Hongtang Town People's government. After the merger, there are 28 administrative villages, one farm and three neighborhood committees. On June 30, 2004, it was approved to abolish the organizational system of Hongtang town and build a new Hongtang sub district office with the same area.
