Wangguan market town

Wangguanji Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Sucheng District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the northwest of Sucheng District, on the southwest Bank of Luoma Lake, about 17 kilometers away from the municipal government, covering an area of 62.7 square kilometers, including about 52000 mu of cultivated land. Wangguanji town has a warm temperate semi humid monsoon climate. By the end of 2019, wangguanji town has jurisdiction over one residential community and 12 administrative villages, with a population of more than 50000. The town government is stationed at No. 11, Huaxia Road, Wangji community.

It is said that during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, Wang Chengyou, a local scholar, was an official in Beijing and set up a market in his hometown. In memory of Wang Chengyou, he was named. In 1957, Wangji township was composed of wangguanji Township, Jiucheng Township and Zhuhai township. In 1995, wangguan market town was established. In 2013, wangguan market town was divided into Sucheng district. The highway network is crisscross in the territory. 250 provincial highway and 324 provincial highway (under construction) pass through Zhenbei and Zhennan. SuiZao line and Suhuang line are the main roads connecting wangguanji town with the outside world. Wangguanji town is known as "the town of building decoration", "the town of aquatic products", "the town of crisp pear" and "the town of Ginkgo". Wangguanji town has local dishes such as tilapia and local products such as garden pear.

Historical evolution

Before the founding of new China, this area was under the jurisdiction of Suining.

In 1950, it was transferred to Suqian, belonging to Wangji township of Zaohe district.

In 1956, it belonged to Gengche district.

In 1957, Wangji township was composed of wangguanji Township, Jiucheng Township and Zhuhai township.

In 1958, it was changed into Wangji commune.

In 1981, during the census of place names, it was found that Wangji commune and Siyang County Wangji commune had the same pronunciation and the same word, which was renamed wangguanji people's commune.

In 1983, it was changed to wangguanji township.

In 1987, wangguanji township was under the jurisdiction of Suqian City (county level).

In 1995, wangguan market town was established.

In 1996, due to the establishment of prefecture level Suqian City, the former Suqian City (county level) was divided into Sucheng district and Suyu County, and wangguanji town was divided into Suyu County.

In 2004, due to the withdrawal of Suyu County to build District, it belongs to Suyu District.

In 2013, the administrative region was adjusted, and Suqian City assigned wangguanji town to Sucheng district.

Wangguanji town is located in the northwest of Sucheng district and the Midwest of Suqian City, about 17 kilometers away from the municipal government. The town center is about 118 ° 10 ′ 12 ″ E and 34 ° 00 ′ 09 ″ n. Located at the junction of Sucheng District, Hubin New District and Suining County, the town is adjacent to Caiji town of Sucheng District in the East, Liangji town of Suining County in the west, Liangji Town, gaozuo town and Shaji town of Suining County in the southwest to Southeast, Weiji town of Suining County in the northwest to northeast and Zaohe town of Hubin New District across the river. Natural river

The ancient Yellow River, formerly known as the "abandoned Yellow River", was formed by the flood in the second year of Jianyan (1128) of the Southern Song Dynasty. After the diversion of the Yellow River in 1885, the ancient Yellow River was no longer navigable. Because it mainly receives domestic sewage of some urban residents and industrial wastewater discharged by coastal factories, it has poor natural dilution capacity and its water source mainly depends on natural rainfall, so it is called "waste Yellow River". Since 1998, Suqian Municipal government has taken measures such as dredging, slope protection and construction of sewage treatment station, and changed the name of "waste Yellow River" to "ancient Yellow River" or "old course of Yellow River". The highest water level is 13.7m and the lowest is 6.07M.

Artificial river

Xisha River originates from Zhuhai reservoir, wangguanji Town, Sucheng District, Suqian City. It flows through Sucheng District, Suining County and Sihong County, and enters Xuhong river at menghetou. The total length of the river is 48.45 km, and the drainage area is 236.6 square kilometers. It is one of the main tributaries of Xuhong River and the main channel for flood discharge, waterlogging drainage and water supply in Yunxi area.

Infrastructure construction

By the end of 2016, wangguanji town had invested more than 30 million yuan to dredge sewers and repair roads, including more than 6000 meters of roads, 460 street lamps and 11000 green seedlings.

In 2017, the construction of 2.6 km road rainwater and sewage pipe network and pavement reconstruction in the town were completed, 12000 square meters of door signs and 36000 square meters of facade were renovated; 600 street trees were planted to create 4 greening nodes; street rainwater grate, sidewalk, solar street lamp, power pole line and 4 bus stops were reconstructed or updated; 200 classification trees were installed on the main and secondary roads in the town dustbin.
