Huagang town

Huagang Town, Hailing District, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the northern suburb of Taizhou city. Provincial highway 353 runs through the East and West, provincial Xingtai highway runs through the north and South and provincial waterway luting river. It is 2km away from Ningqi railway, 5km away from national highway 328, 10km away from Ningjing Yantong expressway, 14km away from Yangtai airport in the west, and 8km away from the main urban area of Taizhou city. Water and land transportation is very convenient, with unique regional advantages, known as the "land of fish and rice" reputation.

Evolution of organizational system

The port people's commune was established in 1958, the district was changed in 1981, the township was changed in 1983, and Gangkou town was established in 1986.

On August 15, 1958, chunduo people's commune was divided into Yangzhuang people's commune (now gangyang town) and Lihua people's commune. In 1983, Lihua people's commune was changed to Township, and Lihua town was established in 1992.

In March 2000, Gangkou town and Lihua town were abolished. At the same time, Qiaoxi village, formerly Mazhuang Township, was set up as Huagang Town, with an area of 73 square kilometers and a population of 45000. It has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees and 35 village committees, and the town government is stationed in Lihua village. At the time of merger, the original port town had an area of 28 square kilometers and a population of 21000. It had 13 administrative villages in Gangbei, Gangdong, Gangnan, Ganggang, Xidong, Xinan, Xixi, Xibei, Sangwan, hushe, Dongtan, Xiaxi and Liuzhuang, and a neighborhood committee in Gangkou. The original Lihua town covers an area of 43 square kilometers and has a population of 23000. It governs 21 administrative villages of Geshe, Lijiazhuang, zuoshe, peishe, dushe, shuanglie, Dongyue, Xiyue, Yanggu, ZHUJIAZHUANG, Yeying, Zhugou, Beili, Shenduo, xueduo, Xujiazhuang, Tangwang, xujiaduo, YEMA, Longhe, Nanli and a neighborhood committee of Lihua.

In May 2001, Xiaxi and Qiaoxi merged into Xiaxi village; Xidong, Xinan and Xibei merged into Xidong village; Sangwan and hushe merged into Sangwan village; Gangkou, Gangnan, Gangbei and Gangdong merged into Gangkou village; Beili, Nanli, ZHUJIAZHUANG and yangdagu merged into Lihua village; Luzhuang, peishe and dushe merged into shuanglie village; Xujiazhuang, xueduo and Shenduo merged into Xujiazhuang village and xujiaduo village Tangwang was merged into xujiaduo village, and YEMA, Longhe and Zhugou were merged into YEMA village.

On September 12, 2019, with the approval of Jiangyan District People's government, Gangkou and Dongtan were merged into Gangkou village, Lijiazhuang, zuoshe and Geshe were merged into Lijiazhuang village, Lihua and tayue were merged into Lihua village.

On October 8, 2019, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's government, Taizhou Municipal People's government decided on October 15, 2019 to put the reconstruction system of Huagang town in Jiangyan district under the jurisdiction of Hailing District, which was officially inaugurated on November 23, 2019.

History and culture

Huagang town was formed by merging the former Lihua town and the former Gangkou town in 2000. Qiaoxi village of Mazhuang township was included.

Gangkou town is an ancient town with a history of thousands of years. It is recorded in the "four territory Map" and "township capital" of Taizhou annals in Wanli of Ming Dynasty. After liberation, it has always been the seat of the district office and town government. After liberation, Lihua set up a township. In November 1992, the township was removed to build a town. There are many stories about Yue Fei's resistance to Jin Dynasty in this town. There are still some place names such as "Yang Da Gu", "camping", "YEMA", "Zhuzhuang", "Dongta Yue", "Xita Yue". In 2018, the GDP will reach 3.03 billion yuan, the general public budget revenue will reach 86.4 million yuan, and the industrial invoice sales will reach 2.42 billion yuan.
