Zhakou Street

Zhakou street is a sub district office under the jurisdiction of qingjiangpu District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, China,. In the west, it is adjacent to Qingjiang street in the district by Huaihai South Road, in the south, it is adjacent to Qing'an street in the district by Jiefang East Road, and in the north, it is adjacent to Changdong street in Qinghe District by Geli canal.

It is named after the Qingjiang sluice. Qiaonan, zhanan and Xinyi (part) towns were established in 1949. In 1954, they became zhanan town. In 1958, they belonged to zhanan management area of Lijiang commune. In 1962, Zhakou commune was established. In 1981, Zhakou street was changed. In 1996, with an area of 4.5 square kilometers and a population of 26000, it has jurisdiction over 11 neighborhood committees including Bogu, Shuangqiao, Dongmen, Hongqiao, Huancheng, Huajie, Lunbu, Chengdong, Qiaonan, Shiqiao and baotaqiao. In 2003, it had jurisdiction over seven neighborhood committees, namely Huajie, Shiqiao, Huancheng, Bogu, baotaqiao, Dongmen and Chengdong.
