Shuozhou Economic Development Zone

Shanxi Shuozhou economic development zone was established in 1992 and became a provincial Development Zone with the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Government in 1996. In September 2006, it passed the examination and approval of the national development and Reform Commission. The development zone mainly includes the planning area, Hongqi pasture and xiyanchi ecological park, with a total area of 86.9 square kilometers (75.5 square kilometers of state-owned land). The planning area is bounded by Pingshuo railway special line, which is divided into two parts: the starting area (West Area) and the Industrial Park (east area). Entrusted by the people's Government of Shuozhou City, the development zone is in charge of two parks: Hongqi ranch and xiyanchi ecological park.

As an agency of Shuozhou Municipal People's government, the Management Committee of the Development Zone, on behalf of the municipal government, implements unified leadership, unified planning, unified management, and performs comprehensive economic and administrative functions within its jurisdiction.
