Historical evolution

At present, Jiangnan District in the Lee's Korean era includes a part of Dawang District of Guangzhou prefecture (lie) in Gyeonggi do, the whole area of Yanzhou District, Shanggu district and the east area of Guochuan Prefecture. In 1963, it was incorporated into Seoul special city and became the subordinate organization of Yanzhou office in Chengdong district. In 1973, Yongdong office was newly established.
