Weibin District, belonging to Xinxiang City, Henan Province, is located in the southwest of Xinxiang City, bounded by Weihe River in the north, Shengli Road Huahua Road Heping Road in the East, and nature in Pingyuan Township in the South and West. Weibin District is named for its location on the Bank of Weihe River in Xinxiang City. Weibin District governs one town and seven streets, with a total area of 52 square kilometers and a population of 230000 (2017). In 2017, the annual GDP reached 12.59 billion yuan, up 7.5% year on year.

The main scenic spots in Weibin District are Xinxiang Museum and dingjue temple.

Historical evolution

After the establishment of Xinxiang Municipal People's Government in 1948, Xinxiang district was established as the second district (Xinhua District) of Xinxiang City in 1949, and then changed to the first district, covering an area of 4.82 square kilometers. After the reform, the people's Government of Xinhua District was rebuilt in 1980. At the beginning of 2004, Xinhua District changed its name to Weibin District after the adjustment of Xinxiang district.

In 2000, Xinhua District governed 10 streets. On December 25, 2003, the State Council approved (guohan No. 134): Xinhua District was renamed as Weibin District. Pingyuan township (excluding Mengying No.1 village, Mengying No.2 village, Mengying No.3 village, Chengguan, Dongguan, luotuowan, maxiaoying, Zhangzhuang, Duan village, liuzhuangying, yinmakou, ximaxiaoying and zangying) in the former suburb is under the jurisdiction of Weibin District; wangwan, Li, Zhao, Jiatun and liangrenwang villages in Hongmen town of Xinxiang County, Yuanzhuang, Shilipu, zhongzhao and Wanggu villages in dazhaoying town are under the jurisdiction of Weibin District Weibin District is under the jurisdiction of seven villages, namely, Wucheng, zhanggucheng, dinggucheng and luositan, and four villages, namely, dongshuidong, xishuidong, shuinanying and Shuinan, in hehe township. After the adjustment, Weibin District has seven streets, namely Zhongtong street, Tiexi street, Jiefang Road, Shengli Road, Jiankang Road, Ziyou road and Nanqiao, and Pingyuan township. The District People's government is located in Renmin Road.

In 2004, the district has jurisdiction over 7 streets (26 communities in total) and 1 township (26 administrative villages and 1 community in total). With a total area of 52 square kilometers and a population of 197000, there are more than 6000 ethnic minorities (about 5000 Hui).

Li village Theater

Located in Li village, Pingyuan Township, Weibin District, Xinxiang City, Henan Province, the Lichun theater building is said to have been rebuilt from a stage in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1826. In the summer of 2000, after heavy rain, the walls collapsed and the beams and columns tilted. In December of the same year, the villagers raised 22983 yuan to rebuild the theater building, which was completed in the spring of 2001. The building is 7.15 meters long, 6.2 meters wide, 5.8 meters high (front and rear eaves are 3.8 meters high), with three rooms wide on the South and two rooms deep on the north. Laojun Temple Fair

Xinxiang laojunan temple fair originated in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 400 years. Every year on February 15 of the lunar calendar, hundreds of merchants from Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Hubei and other provinces and surrounding cities and counties come to Xinxiang to participate in the temple fair.
