Cold and violent
A Chinese idiom, Pinyin is sh í h á NY ī P ù, which means freezing for ten days and drying for one day. It is used to refer to working hard sometimes, slacking sometimes and making slow progress. It comes from Ge Hong's essays on history in the Southern Song Dynasty.
