Chinese idiom, Pinyin is k ǒ ngz ā ow ù y ì, refers to the fear of being criticized by the public. It comes from the biography of Xie Jiqing in the book of Liang.
The idiom comes from the biography of Xie Jiqing in the book of Liang Dynasty: "Zuo Chenggeng and Zhong Rong were not allowed to return at that time. They got each other's will and went on a wild journey, or traveled in the countryside in an open car. When they were drunk, they held an elegy and disdained material discussions."
