Peng Yi (1410-1498), a native of Guancheng bridge, Dongguan County, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. Ming Xuande decade (1435) Ju Ren, official to Zishan doctor.

Born in the eighth year of Yongle (1410), he was a Juren in the tenth year of Xuande (1435). Ming Zhengtong 10 years (1445), as the Ministry of works, Zhengtong 14 years (1449), as huguangdao supervision history. The next year, Peng Yi went to nanzhili to relieve the flood victims. He adopted the method of dredging before blocking, and finally managed the flood and the canal was navigable again. In the fifth year of mingjingtai (1454), Peng Yi visited Jianghuai with Wang Wen, a Bachelor of Arts. He captured the thief in Suzhou and became the official of Dali temple. The next year, he was promoted to the imperial censor of youjindu, the governor of Zijing, and fell to mazhuguan. He was demoted to Shaoxing magistrate for offending the powerful officials in the imperial court. Peng Yi opened a warehouse to relieve the famine. The next year, the harvest was good, and the people vied for food. He also guided the people to rebuild the water conservancy project, which won the support of the people. Nine years later, Peng Yi was promoted to Zuo Buzheng envoy of Shandong Province, and later to Zuo Shilang of the Ministry of industry. In the fourth year of Chenghua (1468) of the Ming Dynasty, Peng Yi, as the right deputy capital, guarded Liaodong. He reorganized the frontier defense, transferred the generals who could not fight to the garrison, trained the soldiers strictly, and fought back the invasion of the Nuzhen people after several battles. Peng Yi guarded Liaodong for ten years, trained his army strictly, and had plenty of food and grass, so neither Nuzhen nor Tatar dared to invade. In 1478, Peng Yi was promoted to be a good doctor. At the age of 67, he returned home. He is modest, honest and upright, which is respected by the villagers. Peng Yi died at the age of 88 after living at home for 22 years.
