Zhou Zhihan, born in 1826, is a native of Jingyang Township in mahazhou (now Majiang county), Guizhou Province.

Zhou Zhihan is the father of Zhou Cheng and the grandfather of Zhou Gongshou and Zhou Changshou. In the first year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1851 AD), he took an examination in the first year of tongzhi (1862 AD). He was the first to be awarded the cabinet secretary, and then the official to the Sichuan magistrate.
