Ye Shen (964-1043), a native of Wucheng (now Huzhou, Zhejiang Province), was named Tingrui. The father of Ye Qingchen, a famous minister in the Northern Song Dynasty.

In the fourth year of Xianping in the Northern Song Dynasty, he was a Jinshi. He successively served as the commander of Hezhou Liyang, a military officer of Zezhou and Haizhou, and then promoted to the magistrate of Xiaoxi, Qingcheng and Gushi. Later, he served as the general judge of Xuanzhou, Yangzhou and Haozhou, moved to Xuanzhou, and finally guangluqing. He died in the third year of Qingli, and he was eighty years old. His son was ye Qingchen, a famous official in the Northern Song Dynasty.
