First aid for burns

Burns are divided into fire burns and chemical burns, and the treatment methods are different.

(1) Burn in fire

① Don't panic after burn, try to keep calm, immediately take off the burning clothes or put out the fire.

② Do not run or shout with fire, so as to avoid respiratory tract burn or fire burning with wind.

③ Cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel. At the same time, lower your body to evacuate from the fire.

④ After leaving the fire site, immediately wash with cold water or put the burned area into cold water for 10-20 minutes to reduce the degree of burn.

⑤ If blisters appear in the burn wound, it can be punctured in the low position, and then the wound can be bandaged. Do not cut off the skin, causing infection.

(2) For chemical burns

① If burned by quicklime, do not soak the injured part in water. After quickly removing the lime, rinse it with a large amount of flowing clean cold water for more than 10 minutes, especially for burns in the eyes.

② For eye burns, it is strictly forbidden to rub with hands or handkerchief. First, wash thoroughly with plenty of flowing water.

③ If the wounded are thirsty, they should be given salty drinks.

④ For severely burned patients, they should call for help from the emergency center and be sent to the hospital for treatment.
