Gas poisoning is actually acute carbon monoxide poisoning. When carbon monoxide is inhaled into the human body, it combines with hemoglobin in the blood to form carboxyhemoglobin, and is not easy to dissociate, resulting in human hypoxia and poisoning. The consciousness of mild poisoning patients is still clear, manifested as dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, palpitation and other symptoms; moderate poisoning patients complicated with delirium, cherry red skin and mucous membrane changes; severe patients with coma, shock, life-threatening. Because the degree of gas poisoning is closely related to the length of time the patient is in the poisoning environment and the concentration of toxic gas in the air, when gas poisoning occurs in the family, rescue should be carried out against the clock. Family first aid should be done in a tense and orderly way according to the following four steps:
(1) Open the door and window to move the patient out of the room and move to a place with fresh, circulating and warm air. At the same time, turn off the gas stove switch and carry the coal stove out of the room.
(2) Check whether the patient's respiratory tract is unblocked. If vomitus and secretions are found in the nose and mouth, remove them immediately to enable the patient to breathe autonomously. Mouth to mouth breathing should be carried out immediately for those with superficial breathing or respiratory arrest.
The method is: let the patient lie on his back, untie the collar and tight clothes, hold the patient's nostril tightly with one hand, hold up the patient's jaw with the other hand, make his head fully backward, open the patient's lips with this hand, the rescuer takes a full breath, and blows at the patient's mouth. When the blowing is stopped, immediately release the hand that pinches the nose to let the gas out of the patient's lungs. The frequency is 14-16 times per minute for adults, 18-24 times for children and 30 times for children. Until the patient has spontaneous breathing or obvious signs of death.
(3) Cover the patient with a coat or blanket or quilt to prevent cold and pneumonia. Massage the patient's body with palm and place hot water bags on the feet and lower limbs to promote the elimination of inhaled poison.
(4) For the unconscious, you can pinch the middle (the junction of the upper 1 / 3 and the lower 2 / 3 of the nasolabial groove) and Shixuan (the tip of both hands and fingers, about 0.1 inch away from the nail) with your fingertips; for the conscious patients, you can drink strong tea or hot coffee.
General mild poisoning patients, after the above treatment, can gradually make the symptoms disappear.
