How to deal with flood
Floods are often impossible to prevent. When the flood comes, in order to minimize the loss of life and property, people should:
(1) Transfer or contact local government, garrison and public security department as soon as possible.
(2) Close the gas valve tightly and cut off the power.
(3) Prepare food, clean water, necessary medicine, cold clothing, life-saving supplies (flashlight, rope, whistle, mirror, inflatable mattress, match or lighter, bright sheets or clothing, etc.) and transfer them to the roof or other high places at any time.
(4) If the flood is not very fierce, we should try every means to block the water outside the door. Use sandbags to fill sand, mud or gravel to block the outside of the door threshold. If there is no sandbags, you can also use carpets and blankets to plug in the gap of the door.
(5) If you are trapped in the water, you should find big trees and high ground as soon as possible to wait for rescue.
(6) Pay attention to collect wooden boards, boxes and other things, and use them as liferafts when necessary.
