First aid measures for drowning

When encountering someone drowning, as long as the correct treatment methods are mastered, generally the drowning person can get out of danger smoothly. The specific treatment methods are as follows:

(1) After lifting the wounded out of the water, immediately remove the water, mud and dirt in his mouth and nasal cavity, wrap his fingers with gauze or handkerchief, pull his tongue out of the mouth, untie his coat button and collar, so as to keep the respiratory tract unobstructed, then hold up the waist and abdomen of the wounded, make his back up and head down to pour water.

(2) Those who stop breathing should be given artificial respiration immediately, and mouth-to-mouth blowing is the best. The first-aid person is located on one side of the wounded, holding up the jaw of the wounded, holding the nostril of the wounded, taking a deep breath, slowly blowing into the mouth of the wounded, relaxing the nostril when the chest is slightly raised, and pressing the chest with one hand to help exhale. Repeat until breathing is restored.

(3) Patients with cardiac arrest should be given chest massage first. The specific method is to let the wounded lie on his back, put a hard plate on his back, lower his head and lean back later, put his right palm flat on the lower part of his sternum and his left hand on his right back, and use the weight of the first-aid person's body slowly, not too hard, in order to prevent fracture. Press the sternum down about 4cm, and then slowly release the wrist without leaving the sternum to recover the sternum. Repeat until the heart rate recovers.
