Zhongxia Park

Zhongxia park is located in the South and east of Yizhang County, Hunan Province. It is built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Deng Zhongxia, an outstanding leader of our party, proletarian revolutionist and leader of the labor movement.

The park covers an area of 50 mu, and has initially built the park square, park archway, Mausoleum accessory room, Mausoleum steps, memorial square and other major projects. The park archway is antique; there are 139 steps in the mausoleum, with 39 steps at the bottom, implying that Comrade Deng Zhongxia died at the age of 39, and 100 steps on the 10th floor symbolize the 100th anniversary of Comrade Deng Zhongxia's birth.

Introduction to scenic spots

Zhongxia park is a new type of modern urban park with rich cultural connotation. The square is open, the pavilions are covered, the trees are verdant, the flowers and plants are luxuriant, and the scenery is pleasant. Longyin in genyan is a famous scenic spot in southern Hunan. There are many poems and Fu inscriptions by literati in the past dynasties. It has a long history and mottled historical sites. As one of the patriotic education bases in Chenzhou, Zhongxia park has enhanced the taste of the county with its beautiful landscape, rich cultural connotation and glorious revolutionary history.

The square is surrounded by trees. Pines and cypresses are planted on both sides of the steps. On the left side, there is an inscription written by the great leader Mao Zedong: "following Deng Zhongxia's will." On the right is a poem by martyr Deng Zhongxia, crossing Dongting

The bronze statue of Deng Zhongxia stands in the center of the memorial square, 9.4 meters high from the base to the statue, and 3.9 meters high. President Jiang Zemin personally inscribed the bronze statue of "Comrade Deng Zhongxia". The life story of martyr Deng Zhongxia is carved on the wall behind the bronze statue.

Historical evolution

Zhongxia park has a planning area of 960 mu, and 80 mu has been developed and utilized by 2006.

Zhongxia Park was founded in 1994. The bronze statue of Deng Zhongxia stands in the center of the memorial square. The height from the base to the statue is 9.4 meters, and the height of the statue is 3.9 meters. It means that Comrade Deng Zhongxia died at the age of 39. Jiang Zemin, then general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the people's Republic of China, personally inscribed the bronze statue "Comrade Deng Zhongxia". At the beginning of its construction, the Bronze Statue Square on the mountain was just a mud flat, and a wall and archway gate were built in the planned area of the park at the foot of the mountain. The conditions of the park are very poor and the environment needs to be improved.

In order to strengthen patriotism education and further improve red tourism, Yizhang County began to upgrade and expand the park in March 2005. With a total investment of 18.78 million yuan, the project was completed in December 2006.

After the transformation, the Bronze Statue Square of Zhongxia park has expanded from 2400 square meters to 4600 square meters. On the basis of maintaining the original appearance of the square and platform, the large red rock relief wall of "revolutionary martyr Deng Zhongxia" has been created, the steps have been reduced and lengthened, the marble floor has been laid, the imitation white marble guardrail has been placed, and the green belt has been added. The cultural square has increased from 7000 square meters to 18000 square meters, and a cultural column has been set up in the square to symbolize indomitable spirit and future, The "eight sceneries of Yizhang" with a long history and profound deposits show the evergreen banyan trees full of vitality, the people-oriented fitness equipment, the music fountain that keeps pace with the times, the square lamps and gardening, the Longyin well, the gen rock and the historical and cultural relics.

Commemorative figures

Deng Zhongxia (1894-1933), the word Zhongshu, also known as Deng Kang. He is from Yizhang, Hunan Province. He entered Peking University to study Chinese in 1917 and joined the May 4th Movement in 1919. In March 1920, it initiated the establishment of the Research Society of Marxism in Peking University. He joined the Beijing Communist group in October of the same year. In August 1922, he was elected member of the second central executive committee of the Socialist Youth League, and served as chairman of the Provisional Central Bureau, member of the Central Bureau, director of the Organization Department, etc. Later, he engaged in the workers' movement. In 1927, he participated in the August 7th Meeting of the CPC Central Committee and was elected as an alternate member of the provisional Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. In May 1933, he was arrested by the Kuomintang authorities. On September 21, he was killed in Yuhuatai, Nanjing at the age of 39.
