Brief introduction to temples

Hengshan of Yanfeng temple is back to Yanfeng. Huiyan peak is the first peak of the 72 peaks of Nanyue. Liu songzai of the Southern Dynasty said: "eight hundred Li around Nanyue, Huiyan is the first, Yuelu is the foot." "Hengyang County annals" written by Tongzhi of Qing Dynasty: "since before Tang Dynasty, all the wild geese in Yunnan had been staying in Hengyang, so the peak was given this name." The Yanfeng temple on Huiyanfeng was first built in the 12th year of liangtianjian in the Southern Dynasty, and then abandoned. It was rebuilt in the first year of Tang Tianbao (742) and repaired in song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The original palace is triple, with no less than 100 houses. During the Anti Japanese War, it was burned by the Japanese invading army, leaving only the front hall and the rear hall. After 1949, the government sent special personnel to renovate many times, plant trees and flower beds extensively, and build many pavilions and pavilions, which made the temple an important tourist attraction and a place for pilgrims to worship and practice, and was designated as a first-class cultural relic protection unit of Hunan Province by the state.

Yanfeng temple is now a master of Jianyuan restoration. He is 88 years old. He was born in Hengyang, Hunan Province. He became a monk in 1936 and studied under master Xingwu.

If you don't want to go too far, there is a shop called Meixin restaurant on the left side of the gate of the park. The home cooked food in this shop is good and the price is not very expensive. If you want to eat real Hengyang food, it's not too far away, You can go to Huancheng south road or Hongxiang Road (generally no more than 8 yuan by taxi).
