Lin zumi (1878-925), formerly known as Zi Keng, was born in Wufeng, Taiwan. His ancestral home is Pinghe, Fujian Province. His ancestors moved to Taiwan from Pinghe in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty.
His grandfather, inspector Lin Wenguan, went to Fujian to be the land governor. His father, Lin Chaodong, was a famous patriotic general guarding Taiwan during the Sino French war. After the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, Japan occupied Taiwan, and Lin Chaodong's family moved to Gulangyu. In 1915, Lin zumi joined the Chinese revolutionary party, engaged in democratic revolutionary activities, donated money to form the Minnan army, and was appointed commander of the Minnan army by Sun Yat Sen. In August 1925, Lin zumi was killed by reactionary warlords in Zhangzhou. He was only 48 years old.
