Pingyuan County Museum

Pingyuan County Museum is a state-owned county-level comprehensive museum, which is responsible for the collection, excavation, protection, research, development and utilization of Pingyuan county and cultural relics exhibition. The administration is subordinate to the people's Government of Pingyuan County, Guangdong Province, and Pingyuan county culture, radio, television, press and Publication Bureau is the competent department for its business.
Construction layout
The construction of the museum started in 1990 and the main project was completed in 1991. The new museum building is three stories high. It is a simple antique building. It is of reinforced concrete structure. The edge of the roof is tilted and golden glazed tiles are used. It covers an area of 2000 square meters, with a construction area of 663 square meters, including 297 square meters of exhibition hall, 49 square meters of cultural relics warehouse, 200 square meters of office, duty room and reception room.
Development history
Pingyuan County Museum is located in shuangqiji, Dazhe Town, Pingyuan county. It was founded in May 1984. It's a local comprehensive museum. From May 1984 to December 2001, the county museum was under the Cultural Bureau of Pingyuan county. From January 2002 to August 2005, it was under the Cultural Education Bureau of Pingyuan county. From September 2005, it was under the culture, radio, television, press and Publication Bureau of Pingyuan county.
County Museum is a local comprehensive museum. The cultural relics work before the establishment of the museum was concurrently managed by the county cultural center before 1974, by the county library from 1974 to 1981, and by the county cultural center from 1982 to 1984. Because Pingyuan had joined Jiaoling and Xingning counties successively, the work of cultural relics in our county was affected to a certain extent, especially in the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, the cultural relics collected by the cultural centers were lost due to the merging of the counties.
The County Museum, built in 1990, is a three-story concrete structure with a total area of 660 square meters and a display area of 360 square meters. In 2008, it was expanded. In front of the culture and sports building, there is a rotunda and other ancillary buildings, parking lot, etc., covering a total area of 3060 square meters, a building area of 1080 square meters, and an exhibition hall area of 500 square meters.
Introduction to the library
The exhibition hall has a prelude hall, Pingyuan construction achievement hall, Pingyuan cultural relics hall, celebrity anecdote hall, etc. The museum has 600 cultural relics, most of which are inscriptions. The more prominent one is the handwriting presented to general Yao Yuping by Mr. Liao Zhongkai, and the extension of Huang Tingjian's regular script stele in Song Dynasty. A large number of stone tools, including stone axes, stone arrowheads, stone spears, stone shovels, stone knives, stone rings, stone hammers and carbonized rice, copper swords and copper pots in the Shang and Zhou dynasties, exquisite ceramics in the Tang Dynasty, unique soul altar pots and multi mouth soul altar pots in the Tang, song and Ming Dynasties, porcelain in the Qing Dynasty, stone carvings, wood carvings, bronze Buddha statues in the Republic of China, and a large number of Western Han statues, were unearthed in Changtian Township, Shizheng Puluo village, Pingyuan in the Neolithic age Coins from the Republic of China.
In addition, there are some pictures of revolutionary wall slogans left by the Fourth Front Red Army of the Red Army during their activities in renju and Chagan of Pingyuan from 1929 to 1930, historical materials about the life of general Yao Yuping, the pioneer of China's democratic revolution, and materials about Anti Japanese national heroes Huang Meixing and Yao Ziqing.
Pingyuan is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, belonging to the Hakka language family. As a museum, it should take promoting the Hakka culture as its own duty, and show the Hakka folk custom, folk traditional culture and art.
