Daqin mountain

Daqin mountain, 1544.8 meters above sea level, is the highest mountain in Zhangzhou. It is located in Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, at the junction of Qiling Township, Guoqiang Township, Jiufeng town and Daxi town.

Traffic information

Self driving tour: enter the east street from Pinghe station, drive 370 meters, turn left, enter the North Ring Road, drive 2.4 km, turn right, enter S207, drive 42.7 km, turn left, and drive 12.8 km from S207 to Daqinshan.

Main attractions

Daqin mountain is 1544.8 meters above sea level. There is a strange stone at the peak, 2.5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 0.3-0.5 meters thick. It is supported by three stone pillars. When it is knocked in different directions, it will produce different sounds. It is known as the Bayin stone. When the air is clear in autumn, you can climb the peak and watch the sea in the direction of clouds with your telescope. Around the main peak are 15 kilometer high mountains, such as xiaoqinshan, egongji, shuishuizi, Bijiashan, huangshijian, nanshandong, dajianwei, shijianzidong, gupingshan, jiaodongshan, xitouwei, and the Northeast coakedong, the North jiangxiuxiedong, the Northwest guanyindong, and laziqi.

The vegetation of Daqin mountain is very good. It is more than 1000 meters above sea level, covered with shrubs and alpine grass. The mountain is surrounded by clouds and fog all the year round. The temperature is low, which makes it feel like a fairyland.

The geomorphic characteristics of Daqin mountain are different from those of mountain areas. Between Daqin mountain and Lingtong mountain is the valley at the source of Dongxi River, with a valley depth of 1000 meters, which is the deepest valley in the region. The mountain type of Daqinshan is straight up and down.

Reconstruction project

The reconstruction project of Daqinshan tourist road officially started. The total length of the highway construction project is 9.8 km. It is designed according to the construction standard of class II Highway. The subgrade width is 8.5 m and the pavement width is 8 m. The total investment is estimated to be 25.2 million yuan. After the highway is put into use, it will be the main transportation hub connecting Daqin tourist area and Lingtong scenic area. At that time, the tourist attractions of Daxi will be linked by road, forming a big circle and tourism circle, laying the foundation for the next step of building Zhangzhou tourism town.

In order to create ecological tourism, Mingfeng villa on Daqin mountain recently started to build a "hundred mile Rhododendron corridor" and plant ten thousand Rhododendron seedlings on the trail of Daqin mountain. These Rhododendron seedlings will also open to welcome tourists from April to May 2010.
