Qingxiushan dragon elephant pagoda

Located at the top of Qingxiu mountain, it was built by Xiao Yunju, a Jinshi from Nanning, who was a minister of the Ministry of official affairs during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is named "dragon elephant tower" because of the meaning of "dragon power in water and elephant power in land". Elevation of 204 meters, more than ten feet high, octagonal nine storey, double eaves brick structure.

The original tower stands tall, more than ten feet high, octagonal tower, nine eaves. In the fourth year of Tianqi (1624) of Ming Dynasty, the Dragon elephant tower was struck by lightning, and the top two floors collapsed. It was not until 1937 that the Yongning County government was demolished for fear that the tower would become a navigation target for Japanese planes to bomb Nanning. Since then, the Dragon elephant tower, which had been standing on fengqiling of Qingxiu mountain for hundreds of years, has completely disappeared from people's sight After liberation, in order to restore Qingxiushan scenic spot, Nanning government reconstructed the Dragon elephant pagoda on the basis of the original pagoda, referring to the pagoda of Ming Dynasty style. After reconstruction, the shape of the tower is still octagonal with nine floors, but the structure is changed to brick concrete structure. The tower is 52.35 meters high and 12 meters wide, with green glazed tiles. There are 207 steps of spiral ladder inside to reach the top of the tower, and 72 copper bells are hung under the eaves of each floor. Standing on the top of the tower, you can have a bird's-eye view of both sides of the Yongjiang river. You can recall the past and the present with great emotion.
