Shiqiao Village

Shiqiao village is located in the west of Nangao township government, Danzhai County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, 2.5km away from the Township People's government. It is adjacent to Tangka village in the East, taipingpo village in the south, Qingjiang village in the West and Qinglang village in Zhouxi town of Kaili City in the north. It is the gate to Nangao township.

General situation

There are 3 natural villages and 6 villager groups in the village, with a total of 313 households and 1253 people. Among them, the Miao population is 1020, the labor force is 716, and the cultivated land area is 677 mu, including 495 mu of farmland, 182 mu of soil, and 0.59 mu of cultivated land per capita. In 2010, the per capita net income was 2958 yuan, and the per capita share of grain was 430 kg. Grain and cash crops are mainly rice, corn, potato and so on. Ancient papermaking is a unique national traditional craft in Shiqiao village, which has been handed down since the middle of Tang Dynasty, and the traditional craft remains intact. There are more than 60 households engaged in the paper industry in the village, mainly producing white paper and color paper. The paper is good, especially color paper

Color handmade paper is unique in China. Part of the color paper is also sold in Australia, Southeast Asia and other regions. It is used to make greeting cards, handbags, decorate stores, etc.
