Tunxi Museum

There are two museums on Tunxi Old Street, which are state-owned. The museum mainly displays Huizhou brick carving art, painting art, ancient furniture art, ancient Huizhou customs and ethics. Precious collections include brick carvings of Qing Dynasty figures' door covers, she stone inkstones, French Chinese glazed porcelain pillows and spring and autumn bronzes. On the second floor, there is a rare picture of happiness of fortune, wealth and longevity during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.

Tunxi Museum

Tunxi museum is located at 168 Tunxi Old Street, with a building area of about 700 square meters. It is a local comprehensive museum.

Collection

The museum displays Ming and Qing furniture, ancient calligraphy and paintings, porcelain, jade, bronzes, stationery utensils and Huizhou brick carvings.

The whole set of brick carvings of Qing Dynasty's personage door cover is 128 cm high and 290 cm long, which is made of 52 pieces of brick carvings. The main content of the brick carving is three groups of stories about the Three Kingdoms. From left to right, they are Changbanpo, Liubei's recruiting relatives and borrowing the east wind.

Sheshi inkstone is 1.62 meters long, 0.61 meters wide and 0.11 meters thick, weighing 360 kg. Its two sides are flat and of the same thickness. On the front, the silver stars are like raindrops, on the back, the Venus is toward the golden halo, showing natural splendor. The stars are evenly distributed, bright and orderly, small as millet. The inkstone board is green and bright in color, warm and smooth in texture, and caresses like a baby's skin. It can be called "unparalleled treasure in the world".

The porcelain pillow made in Jingdezhen kiln. This pillow is a lady lying on the waist of Xumi seat, with her left hand supporting her zygoma and her right hand holding a lotus leaf, which bends from her chest and unfolds into a pillow.

The spring and autumn bronzes are oval and flat bottomed. Tiger head shaped flow mouth, the shape of the cobra, along the decorative patterns, triangular patterns, Kui pattern, green lacquer ancient, delicate patterns.

Basic Display

The basic exhibitions of Tunxi museum are placed in two main exhibition halls, which are open to visitors for a long time. Three special exhibitions, namely, Huizhou brick carving art exhibition, Huizhou figure portrait exhibition and Ming and Qing furniture exhibition, mainly show the audience the brick carving art, painting art and ancient furniture art of Huizhou, as well as the local customs and ethics of ancient Huizhou, which have a typical artistic charm of ancient Huizhou.

Important events

Tunxi Museum has successively held such special exhibitions as classical furniture exhibition of Ming and Qing Dynasties, calligraphy and painting exhibition commemorating the centenary of Mao Zedong's birth, Huizhou collection portrait exhibition, works exhibition of early deceased members of Xiling Seal Engravers society, the first new rural calligraphy and painting exhibition in Tunxi, and calligraphy and painting exhibition of clean government culture in Tunxi District.
