Nangaofeng

The south peak, 257 meters high, is one of the two peaks of the West Lake's ten "double peaks". It is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It faces off the north peak at Yanxia cave and shuile cave. On the top of the mountain, you can have a panoramic view of the vast Qiantang River and the mirror like West Lake. It's a good place for you to climb and range. There are many ancient trees and rocks on the mountain. The pagoda at the top of the peak competes with the Beifeng Pagoda in the competition for supremacy, which is known as "Lingyun with two pagodas", and is one of the traditional "Eight Sights of Yanling mausoleum". In the song of hanging lanterns written by Xu Zhengshou in the Qing Dynasty, there is a sentence that "take the tower as the peak, the peak is also high, and the North Peak sings the answer of the south peak". There was a seven level stone pagoda and Rongguo temple in nangaofeng, but none of them exists now.

Introduction

The scenic spots and caves on the mountain include Xianzhao altar, Tianchi cave, Qianren cave, fahua spring, Boyu spring and Liugong spring, among which Qianren cave is the largest. With the passage of time, most of these famous springs and caves have disappeared. Now, in order to adapt to the development of tourism, the Department of landscape architecture plans to build nangaofeng into a scenic area with outstanding forest, stone, cave, spring and water as the main landscape.

History and culture

Nangaofeng, also known as Nanshan, is also called Xunfeng because the south is Xun in the eight trigrams, which is the remaining vein of mare mountain. According to Lu You, the great poet of the Southern Song Dynasty, who wrote the record of Yanzhou rebuilding Guangxiao temple in Nanshan, as early as before the Tang Dynasty, there were monks practicing here, "Jielu at the foot of the mountain, known as Guangling nunnery". During the reign of emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty (1041-1048), it was expanded to Lingsi. During the reign of emperor zhezong (1094-1098), he moved to the top of the mountain. Huizong Chongning years (1102-1106), named Wanshou Tianning. During the reign of Emperor Gaozong in Shaoxing (1131-1162), it was renamed Baoen Guangxiao temple. It was renamed Tianning Temple in the early Ming Dynasty. In the Northern Song Dynasty, there were seven storeyed pagodas, which were destroyed by Xuanhe's robbers. In the 27th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1548), a seven level brick tower was rebuilt, still standing on the top of the mountain. At the request of local officials and gentry, Yan Maoqing, who was then the censor of salt inspection, wrote a record of the tower building on maoxun's two peaks, which was full of thousands of words and literary talent. Because of his dependence on Yan Song and low moral character, the local chronicle replaced the author with Hu Zongxian, the Anti Japanese general. This record has been engraved with stone, but it still exists in the bottom of Nanfeng tower.

In the early 1980s, the tourism department carried out the planning and construction of nangaofeng, planting a number of plum trees in response to the theory of "Plum City". In early spring, the plum blossom blooms and the fragrance floats. Many people come here to explore the plum blossom. In addition, a new Xiangxian temple and a gallery of calligraphy and painting steles were built. The statues of marquis Sun Shao of Jiande in the Three Kingdoms, Liu Changqing and Du Mu in the Tang Dynasty, Fan Zhongyan and Lu You in the Song Dynasty were carved in the Xiangxian temple, and the pictures of Yanzhou City in the Song Dynasty and the famous articles of the past dynasties were embedded in the gallery wall, making it a cultural attraction.
