Wu Gongshan

Wugong in Hangzhou starts from the west of Gulou in the East and ends at the top of Wugong Mountain in the West. Wushan is composed of Baoyue, Emei, Ruishi, Qibao, Yunju, Jindi (commonly known as Chenghuang mountain) and Wugong. The original Wuzixu temple on the top of the mountain, commonly known as Wugong temple, is dedicated to Wu Zixu, a senior official of the state of Wu in the spring and Autumn period. There are many people living on the mountain, which is the most popular mountain in Hangzhou. There is a lookout tower on Wugong mountain. Firefighters watch the fire day and night and call the police when they find the fire. So the old saying "watch the fire on Chenghuang mountain" spread in Hangzhou. The tower is still in existence. Although it is abandoned and not used, it has its own scenery.

Wu Gongshan

Wu Zixu (559 ~ 484 BC). The son of Wu she, a famous official of Chu, was a doctor of Wu state in the spring and Autumn period. In 522 BC, his father Wu she was killed. He fled and entered Wu through song, Zheng and other countries. Later, He Gang's son Guang (i.e. King Helu of Wu) assassinated King Liao of Wu, seized the throne, reorganized the army and trained the military, and made the country prosperous day by day. Soon after that, he conquered the state of Chu and was granted the title of Shenxu. Later, when Fu Chai, the king of Wu, urged the king to refuse Yue's peace and stop attacking Qi. Wu did not listen and was gradually alienated. Finally, Fu Chai, the king of Wu, was very angry and ordered him to commit suicide. On the fifth day of May, Wu Zixu's corpse was wrapped in Zoyi leather and abandoned in the Qiantang River. The people of Wu pitied him and set up a temple for him on a hill southeast of Wushan, which was later named Wugong mountain.
