Zhapu Fort

Zhapu fort is a national key cultural relic protection unit, including Nanwan fort and Tianfei palace fort. Nanwan fort is located in dengguang mountain and xichangshan zhiao, 1km southeast of Zhapu town. According to the records of Pinghu County in the Republic of China, it was built after the Sino Japanese War of 1896. The fort faces south and faces the sea. At present, there are two southeast fort, covering an area of 207 square meters. The residual height of the fort is 4.15 meters and 4.45 meters respectively.

Zhapu Fort

A 16.7-ton iron gun with a breech is placed between the battery. It is attached with a gun seat, a gun frame and a mechanical transmission device. The body of the gun is engraved with the inscription "made in 1888 by the Jiangnan manufacturing General Administration" and the dragon pattern. Tianfei palace fort is located at the south end of Haitang street in Zhapu town. It was built in 1729, the seventh year of Yongzheng reign in Qing Dynasty. The fort faces south from the north, and is based on Binhai stone. Now there is an arc-shaped corridor (56.3 meters long and 1.65 meters wide) and a group of four battery, which are arranged in a fan-shaped north-south arrangement, covering an area of 335 square meters. There are three iron cannons, one of which weighs 7 tons, and is attached with gun frame and mechanical transmission device. The body of the gun is engraved with the inscription "made in 1884 by the General Administration of manufacturing in the south of the Yangtze River" and the pattern of tuanlong. In the first Opium War, the fort played a role in fighting against the British invasion of Zhapu.
