Pinghu folk custom museum

Pinghu folk custom museum is located in the East head of Huancheng North Road, Pinghu City, and the west side of Donghu scenic area. It is a special museum featuring the production, life and cultural customs of Jinping households in Jiangnan Water Town. It was officially opened to the outside world on February 8, 2002. The former residence of Lu family, a wealthy businessman in Pinghu, was built in 1930s. It is a well preserved and large-scale ancient building in Pinghu area. Pinghu Folk Customs Museum has three exhibition areas: production, life and cultural customs. There are two exhibition halls of agriculture and textile industry in the production custom exhibition area; six exhibition halls of clothing, diet, residence, travel, marriage and childbirth, and tickets in the life custom exhibition area; and four exhibition halls of folk dance, folk opera, folk literature, and folk art in the cultural custom Exhibition area. At present, more than 2000 pieces of folk cultural relics are on display. In the way of presentation, we mainly use the original material objects, supplemented by pictures, words and models. In the key customs, highlight the process, rendering features, in order to fully display the history and culture of Pinghu.
